We're looking for a Data Analyst to join our team in the UK or US as part of our Data Analytics function.

  • We are looking for a strategic, intelligent and commercial individual to provide world class data analysis for our Fashion team and WGSN TrendCurve+ advisory service. You will be highly analytical and skilled at interrogating and interpreting multiple data sets, and translating data analysis into actionable insights for some of WGSN’s most strategic partners.

The successful candidate will work closely and collaboratively with our Content and Advisory teams and wider WGSN business including trend experts, data scientists, and commercial teams to analyse data and aid in the generation of breakthrough insight for our clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality and accurate analysis for WGSN‘s Fashion Content and TrendCurve+ advisory work, based on an understanding of the global fashion market, the operations of its key players, the trading calendar and fashion trends
  • Provide clients with insight on future strategies and growth opportunities
  • Synthesise WGSN’s proprietary trend analytics, e-commerce retail data, social media analytics and consumer panel data, with qualitative insight and analysis to develop actionable insights that respond to clients’ needs.
  • Tackle the challenge of extracting business intelligence from large data sets. Ability to see beyond the numbers
  • Proactively suggest ways to visualise complex data sets, generating charts/tables that give insightful views of key business issues and opportunities
  • Is accountable for personal objectives and designated KPIs by working within editorial guidelines to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
  • Is confident to take an active and vocal role in team meetings, putting forward new ideas and suggestions for data integration into existing Mindset projects
  • Is a strong participant and contributor to the creation, sharing and learning culture to provide inspiration and relevant information for the benefit of the TrendCurve+ advisory team’s deliverables
  • Responsibility for projects being delivered on brief, in a relevant, insightful and commercially successful manner with data integrity at the core


Your Experience

  • An ability to explain data to people who don’t get it is a must
  • Experience in fashion retail/merchandising/buying/ecommerce is a strong advantage
  • Ideally a few years of experience in a data analyst role
  • Ability to analyse large amounts of data and pinpoint trends that will impact the market
  • A person that gets things done and a problem solver
  • An analytical mind, with the ability to distinguish between what is important and what is not, making the complex simple
  • Curious, flexible and a strategic thinker with gravitas that can inspire their clients, peers and more junior colleagues.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Creative, commercial, resourceful, innovative & able to cope under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills comfortable to tackle work within a global team
  • Technical Experience with:
    • Databases (one or multiple): Snowflake, Redshift, SQL, etc.
    • Languages (one or multiple): SQL, Python, R, etc.
    • Visualization (one or multiple): Tableau, Spotfire, Qlik, etc.
    • Analytical Experience (one or multiple): Forecasting, NLP, Clustering, etc.
