We're looking for a Data Manager to join our team in London/Hertfordshire as part of our Content function.

Reporting into the central pricing team, it is primarily the responsibility of the Data Manager to own the product and its data, whilst ensuring the client realises the full value of their service. Starting as the owner of Price & Promotion data within the business, you will develop into an integral part of the team, driving engagement throughout different teams, producing creative insights, delivering regular reports, managing new projects, and enhancing existing processes.

Whilst as the Data Manager will report directly to the client, you also will be the client’s internal advocate at Price & Promo. You will establish relationships with the team at P&P, and a network within the wider Ascential business, enabling you to effectively drive the client’s agenda and represent their best interests. Managing a variety of stakeholders from across two businesses is critical to the success of this role. You will be directly accountable to both businesses for data-oriented contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the quality control process, policies and guidance, maintaining up to date documentation, data expertise and driving product development.

  • Use your understanding of the client’s scope and requirements to integrate P&P data into the wider business and maximise the value of P&P data.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders from both businesses to deliver contracted projects, propose new initiatives and identify areas for growth.

  • Develop a strong understanding of UK retail and use this knowledge to analyse market trends and deliver creative insight.

  • Fulfil regular reporting responsibilities and support the wider business to build additional reports as needs emerge and evolve.

  • Liaise with the clients’ technology and product teams to deliver internal initiatives that support your colleagues.

Your Experience

  • Dedication to quality, attention to detail, persistence, and ability to follow through.

  • Experience of data quality practices, an understanding of how databases relate, and a desire to become an expert.

  • Intellectual curiosity with a proven ability to connect trends in data.

  • Excellent problem solving and data analytics skills identifying / anticipating issues and taking accountability for mitigating actions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Self-starter, having the ability to manage own work, prioritise and execute against critical deliverables, coupled with a sense of personal ownership for delivery.

  • Logical thinker with some experience of business intelligence.

  • At least 1-2 years of experience working with data within a busy office environment.

  • Proficiency in the full Microsoft Office suite, primarily Excel, an understanding of SQL and desire to learn, openness to work with additional data visualisation tools, including Power BI and Tableau.
