We are looking for a Head of Consumer Tech to join our team in London, on a one year fixed term contract.  

The Head of Consumer Tech will have extensive experience implementing the strategic content strategy for an organisation, and translating that direction into an actionable plan for new product development.  You will be an inspiring and creative thought leader with an extensive knowledge of the global Consumer Tech industry.

You will have the experience to assimilate client needs and challenges and from these create commercial opportunities. You will be an excellent content creator, with the ability to create world-class content, and the skills to lead, support and edit content across a team of international experts.

The Head of Consumer Tech is client facing and is responsible for Enterprise client engagement and to support business growth across retention and new business. Marketing content is a key activity across platforms.

Key accountabilities

  • Responsible for implementing the content strategy of Consumer Tech as directed by Content Director
  • Responsible for researching and creating solution-driven content showing a clear understanding of client needs across several product categories in Consumer Tech. To deliver this content in either written, audio or visual formats
  • Forecasting and tracking with quantitative and qualitative data within all markets and demographics
  • Accountable for the relevancy and quality of trends day content for their department as directed by Content Director
  • Responsible for managing freelancer acquisition along with the relationships of freelancers working for the department including quality control and budget
  • Accountable for signing off teams content, ensuring content standards are met and ready for publication as directed by Content Director
  • Responsible for the main ‘peer review’ of content created for their relevant segments or across departments and verticals, as directed by Content Directors
  • Travel nationally to cover industry trade shows, conferences and other events as required
  • Accountability for client feedback on the content output of the department
  • Partner with the Marketing department in the creation and delivery of promotional materials to drive growth and build awareness of product
  • Develop the quality of the team members’ content and behaviours, providing mentorship and guidance

Skills, experience & qualifications required

  • Extensive experience implementing the strategic content strategy and translating that direction into an actionable plan
  • A recognised thought leader within the Consumer Tech industry  
  • Career experience within consumer insight, design, product development, data analysis or content creation
  • Extensive knowledge of the global market from macro to micro trends across consumer, technology and lifestyle product areas, and the ability to assimilate client challenges/needs into commercial opportunities
  • Expert level of research, analysis, writing, editing and peer reviewing others' content
  • Expert understanding of the role that data and analytics play in commercial success. Ability to analyse data and pinpoint trends that will impact the market
  • Excellent proficiency in written English for report writing
  • Excellent presentation, organisation, communication, and collaboration skills 
  • Technical skills: Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Adobe Creative Suite, Slack, Social Media platforms
