We're looking for a Partner Research Editor to join our team in London or New York as part of our Content (Editorial and Advisory) functions.

The Research Editor is to join our team in London and become an integral part of our Research function, working closely with WARC’s Advisory team on bespoke partner research.

WARC is an independent and objective digital publisher relied on by the marketing, advertising, media, research and academic communities. At the heart of the company’s offering is its premium online marketing intelligence service encompassing material from more than 96 countries.

The research team provides qualitative and quantitative research, using surveys, case study data and WARC’s extensive library of marketing intelligence content, to produce reports and benchmarking tools for the advertising industry.

Partner research is a growing area at WARC. Our rapidly growing advisory business has driven the expansion of partnered research content, on a wide range of marketing effectiveness topics and across a variety of sectors. You will be part of the research team, but work closely with the Advisory team’s project managers to deliver this robust research-based content for WARC clients.

This is a unique role for someone who wants to innovate within a globally respected digital business, working closely with some of the world’s biggest brands to produce robust research-based content.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the relationship within the research team for advisory queries, ensuring that bespoke research proposals are appropriate and achievable

  • Partner with advisory clients from project kick-off through to delivery, ensuring that the research brief is met at each stage of the project

  • Design and script quantitative surveys using online survey platforms, including working with research panel partners where required, ensuring alignment to research objectives

  • Design qualitative, interview-style questions for external contributors

  • Manage data collection, quality and visualisation in Excel and Powerpoint

  • Present research findings internally and to clients

  • Write, edit and proof long and short-form content based on research findings

  • Select and manage freelance writers

  • Contribute to the content design process, working with designers to lay out copy and bring the story to life

 

Your Experience

  • Ideally, at least 5 years’ experience conducting research, including survey design and build

  • A blend of strong writing and editing skills, alongside data analysis expertise

  • Familiarity with manipulating large datasets, with a keen eye for identifying inconsistencies and pulling trends out of data

  • Strong skills in telling stories based on research insights, translating data into insightful content

  • Experience within the marketing and advertising industry, with a keen interest in the latest trends, best practices and thought leadership in the industry

  • Strong client-facing skills, with confidence communicating both internally and externally

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint skills essential

  • InDesign skills, and some experience with data visualisation / modelling tools would be an advantage

  • A background or experience within a publishing environment would be a bonus
