We're looking for a Senior Content Manager to join our team in London as part of our Content function.

Your team:  Your role sits within the content production (programming) team at LIONS and will be responsible for curating content across our events portfolio. LIONS content programmes are highly rated and focussed on driving value for our customers. The content production team upholds a centre of excellence around commissioning, creating and curating content at LIONS. The team is committed to DE&I in our programmes, and focussed on increasing investment from our content hosts to improve the quality of our offering for our audience.

Your Role: Your role will be focussed on creating proprietary content and will lead on the commercialisation of our content offering. They will work closely with partners to develop sponsored and integrated content, while upholding the LIONS editorial standards and integrity, and delivering to what the LIONS audience need to see.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out research with senior creatives and marketers in some of the world’s most innovative organisations to obtain detailed insight into their interest areas and audience needs
  • Build an in-depth knowledge and understanding of what partner needs and expectations are, and ways in which we can collaborate and integrate
  • Translate research insights into a detailed, exciting and strategic content agenda which captures exactly what our audience wants to see - compelling, on-brand, timely and relevant content programmes
  • Obsessed with the delegate experience of any LIONS content produced! Constantly thinking about what delegates need to know, removing all noise and ensuring our audience walk out of a room with new knowledge, clear takeaways and practical tools
  • Working with partners to ensure their objectives are met while upholding the LIONS editorial values at all times
  • Understanding the fringe of the Festival and how content plays out across the City. Feeding into and leading the content strategy for Integrated Fringe partners
  • Hyper critical about what great content looks like! Conducting editorial reviews and constantly assessing how content is performing to find ways to improve
  • Thinking about format innovation and how to make content “sticky”. Constantly thinking about innovative ways to deliver content. Finding ways to drive the overall quality of all content with a focus on content satisfaction rates
  • Maintain a finger on the pulse of what’s happening in the industry, movers and shakers and other major industry events
  • Committed to improving representation and inclusion in our content, through format innovation, content commissioning and curation
  • Confidently commission content and speakers of all levels, recruiting talent and briefing them on the themes identified in the customer research

Your Experience

  • Strong editorial eye balanced with strategic thinking - clear on what makes good content and how to improve it
  • Problem solver – should be able to think on your feet and react quickly and calmly under pressure
  • Commercially-minded and able to balance partnership opportunities and editorial integrity
  • Knowledge of the advertising and communications industry desirable
  • Team player - we work with clients and suppliers from all around the world so you should expect that attitudes to business practice can differ. Working with authority, patience and creativity in balance is key
  • Confident and amiable - experience in managing high-profile people preferable
